New Name, New Website, Same Mission!

Welcome to our new website! This work is the effort of Danielle Mogyoros and Sanjna Gogna, whose biographies can be viewed here. To learn more about our Canada Summer Jobs Students, check out our previous blog post.

New Name

Our first big change is our new name. We are now “Inclusion Action in Ontario Education and Community” – abbreviated to “Inclusion Action in Ontario”.

New Website

Our second big change is our new and redesigned website. Our goals with the website redesign were to:

  • Provide more useful resources and help for those seeking or supporting inclusive education.
  • Make it easier for our members to connect with others working towards the same goals.
  • Make it easier to contribute to this community, whether via membership, sharing a story, or mentorship and content creation

A lot of technology choices were made in creating a new website with all the capabilities we required. We have a new name and domain, and also collaboration technology powered by Google Workspace.

With the new name and domain we now have contacts IDs for different organizational roles, as well as directors and staff. For general inquiries, email contact@inclusionactionontario.ca. For website and social media content ideas, email content@inclusionactionontario.ca. To contact a member of our team directly, you can find individual contact information here.

Check out the website and dip back often for new content because we will be adding more regularly.

This site is a work in progress so we’d love to hear your feedback at techadmin@inclusionactionontario.ca.

Ontario’s highest court affirms right to participate in hearing for man with Down Syndrome

“Inclusion Action in Ontario (IAO) reports on a significant Court of Appeal decision affirming the rights of an adult with Down Syndrome to participate in decisions about his living arrangements. The Court emphasized the necessity for individuals with developmental disabilities to have their voices respected, challenging assumptions of incapacity. This aligns with IAO’s advocacy efforts, including the ‘My Home, My Way’ series, promoting independent living for those with complex needs. The decision marks a crucial step forward in the fight for autonomy and dignity for adults with developmental disabilities.”
