Individualized Funding in Ontario

In Ontario, those living with vulnerabilities- young and old, require access to funding in order to get supports. The Individualized Funding Coalition for Ontario (IFCO) who support the self determination of people with disabilities recently launched a comprehensive paper called: Now is the Time, Key Principles and Core Elements to Bring About Effective Individualized Funding Mechanisms in Ontario

The paper can be found here, and walks you through the foundation and understanding of beliefs and premises for individualized funding, core elements and challenges that may get in the way.

Having access to individualized funding for supports allows those living with vulnerabilities the proper foundation for an inclusive life in their home and communities.

Tell us your thoughts, and how you feel about individualized funding supports.

The Court emphasized the necessity for individuals with developmental disabilities to have their voices respected, challenging assumptions of incapacity.
